Hi, I’m Yves Eggleston!
Whether it’s a custom home, a multi-unit building, or a commercial space, I can help you take your project from the design and permit stages all the way to occupancy.
My journey in construction began in 2005. I built Blueprint Construction from the ground up starting with a paintbrush in my hand and with time, I transitioned to managing larger scale projects.
I do things a little differently than most. I only take on a limited number of projects at a time. By staying small, I can focus on your project. I’m on-site in person to keep an eye on every detail, ensuring that the work happening behind the walls is just as solid as the work you see on the outside.
Also, I believe in a fully "open-book" approach. I charge a fixed management fee (ranging from 10% to 20% depending on the scope). In an industry of hidden fees, I provide certainty where the final budget will never vary by more than 5%. Every receipt, every discount, and every quote is shared with you directly. Everything is billed at cost, no hidden markups, no surprises.
On a personal note, I’ve lived in Ottawa my whole life, I’m a proud husband and a father of two, and I treat every project with the same care I’d put into my own home.

Ottawa has a lot of great companies in this space, but it’s also an industry where they often disappear overnight or hide behind a new name when things get tough.
I’m proud to say I’ve been doing this right since 2005. I’ve never walked away from a project or left a client hanging. Also, I’ve never had to shut down only to reopen under a different name or been involved in any type of litigation. In fact, I’ve had the exact same phone number and email address for over 20 years.
Construction isn't always perfect, and not every project goes exactly to plan, but I will always stand by your side and get us to the finish line. Because of this, I’ve never had to do much advertising. You won't see Blueprint signs on front lawns or find us on social media, I’ve always believed that if you do the right thing, word-of-mouth is the only marketing you need.

We know every project is different. That’s why our approach is adaptable. Whether you need us to step in and solve a specific roadblock or manage the entire build from concept to completion, we fit into your plans. Here is how we typically guide a project from an idea to reality:
1. Feasibility & Consulting
Before you commit to major expenses, we help you explore your options. We assess site potential and develop preliminary ideas and budgets to ensure your vision aligns with your investment goals. It’s our way of giving you a reality check early on, so you don’t end up paying for a design that is too expensive to actually build.
2. Design & Permits
Once the concept is solid, we guide the drawing process and handle all the engineering and permits. Because we’ve spent over 20 years seeing how these plans actually come together on-site, we often find ways to improve a design from the start. We spot practical details on paper that aren't always obvious but make a difference in the end.
3. A Budget You Can Trust
We don't guess at costs. Once drawings are nearly complete, we obtain quotes from trusted trades to finalize the budget. Because of our detailed upfront work, our final budgets never vary by more than 5%, unless you decide to make significant changes later on. We provide financial certainty in an uncertain industry.
4. The Build & Timeline
Once construction starts, we manage the entire site: scheduling trades, handling city and engineering inspections, and negotiate supplier pricing on your behalf. We provide realistic timelines from day one because we know construction is stressful, and you need to be able to plan your life around it.
5. Honest After-Care & Warranty
Let’s be real, in construction, the reality is that almost every project will have minor "hiccups" after it’s completed. We don’t disappear once the final invoice is paid. If some investigating is required or a trade needs to come back for a repair, we’re here to coordinate it. We’ll get the right people back on-site and make sure those final details are handled properly.
6. Financing
It’s no secret that banks have really tightened up, making construction financing more difficult than ever. Over the last 20 years, I’ve built strong, reliable relationships with private lenders who have funded many of our previous projects. Because these lenders know our track record and trust the way Blueprint manages a site, I can help facilitate financing that cuts through a lot of the usual red tape.
