Project Recovery

Your project, back on track.

We work with banks, investors, realtors, lawyers, and owners managing their own builds in Ottawa.

Whether a project has stalled or become more than you can manage, we help you understand where it stands and what comes next.

Who it is for

Banks, investors, realtors, lawyers, and owners.

These are people in Ottawa managing a build who need help completing it. A project may have stalled, or it may have become more than you can manage. That is not a verdict on you. We look at what is in front of us and help you find a way forward.

  • Disputes over incomplete or poor trade work
  • Permits that have stalled
  • Trades that are missing
  • Money running out
  • A lender stepping back
  • A builder who has left
  • Warranty repairs still outstanding

How we can help

A mediator when things break down

We help you and the trade look at the agreements, the work, and a resolution that can get the job moving again. Where a warranty exists, we can support that warranty work. We are not a court. We do not represent you as lawyers. We cannot promise that everyone will agree.

A clear plan to get unstuck

We review the project, what went wrong, and what finishing honestly involves. The first look is on us. Before any paid work, we agree the scope and the fee in writing. If you want, we stay on as your person on site.

Money to finish the job

Financing to complete the construction, secured against the property, may be available. Any financing is subject to assessment and to terms you agree in writing. Approval is not automatic, and we do not promise that funds will be offered.

Someone in your corner

We do not take over your project. If a takeover or a buyout is on the table, we help you read the options and the proposals and seek fair terms. We cannot promise that the outcome will be fair.

More ways we can help

A written cost to complete

An honest written cost for the work that is still left.

Replacing a builder or trade

If someone has left, we can scope the remaining work, gather quotes, and help you choose who finishes. We cannot promise that the right trade will be free to start.

Permit status

We review the permit file with the City of Ottawa and name the steps that are still required. We do not promise approval, and we do not promise that a date will be met.

New home warranty

We help you identify and document concerns and prepare the submissions that fit your situation. What is covered, and the deadlines, depend on the home and the warranty. Not every concern is eligible, and a repair is not guaranteed.

Liens and holdbacks

We organize the paperwork, tell you when a lawyer should look at it, and help you connect with a construction lawyer. We do not give legal opinions. We do not interpret legal deadlines. We do not resolve title or lien rights.

Adjudication

We organize project records, payment documents, and evidence of the work done. We do not represent you, and we do not give legal advice.

Damage on site

After a fire, a storm, a theft, or water damage, we document the condition and estimate the repair so you can speak with the insurer. We are not licensed adjusters, and we do not promise that a claim will be paid.

Power of sale

We assess the work still to do and share building and cost information with you and with the lawyer or advisers on the file. We do not promise when that information will be ready, and we do not advise on enforcement or the law.

Last steps to occupancy

We coordinate the remaining work, the inspections, and the signoffs that lead toward occupancy. We do not guarantee a permit, and we do not guarantee a move in date.

For banks and other lenders

Do you hold a stalled construction loan? We can review the work in place and the cost still left, so you can decide your next step. This review is not an appraisal, not a regulated certification, and not legal advice.

How it works

  1. First look on us

You tell us where things stand.

  2. A straight assessment

We look at the work remaining and the likely costs.

  3. You choose the help

Mediation, advice, financing, or support on the project.

  4. Agreed next steps

We stay with you for that support. We do not guarantee that the build will be finished, and we do not guarantee a fair outcome.

Blueprint Construction is not a home inspector, a lawyer, or an appraiser. When the work needs one of those people, we refer you to a qualified professional.
